Our drive to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion is closely linked to helping employees thrive and innovating for better customer experiences.

If you care about your work, you’re curious, and you think customer-first, you have a place at Dojo.

To make sure you’re the best you can be throughout the recruitment process, let us know if you need any extra adjustments to help you thrive.

The Role

You'll be a Cloud Security Architect within the Information Security division of one of the fastest-growing and most successful FinTech companies in Europe. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the security posture of our organisation's critical assets and providing expertise during the design and development of our products and features.

Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, all aimed at delivering tangible results that align closely with our business objectives. To thrive here, you will need to take ownership of your tasks, adopt a pragmatic mindset, and be immensely collaborative.

We are currently entering a new phase of growth as we endeavor to transform the payments sector and empower the experience economy. Our mission involves building next-generation products that provide our customers and consumers with the tools to turn transactions into meaningful relationships. We work in a fast-paced industry, and to be the best, we need to move fast and be agile.

What You Will Do

  • Actively engage with our talented software engineers to embed and mature security practices in the design, development, and deployment of our products.
  • Utilise your expertise in secure cloud architecture (mainly GCP, AWS) and containerised environments (Kubernetes) to perform architecture reviews and threat modeling of cutting-edge financial products.
  • Identify design flaws and recommend changes or improvements during the design phase of the product lifecycle.
  • Actively participate in our Security Champions initiative, collaborating with cross-functional teams and advocating for security best practices throughout the organisation. This will also involve mentoring and training our engineering teams, mainly around application and cloud security.
  • Assist in integrating security practices and application security tools in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Risk assess and prioritise security threats and findings based on their impact and likelihood, providing recommendations to our engineering teams. This includes findings identified in your reviews, as well as findings from AppSec, CSPM, and vulnerability management tools.
  • Help develop enterprise-grade security systems by establishing security requirements with a defence-in-depth approach that seamlessly integrates with the business and technology strategy.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience in collaborating closely with software engineers and system administrators.
  • Extensive experience in performing architecture reviews and threat modeling for products and applications.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in securing cloud environments (GCP, Azure, and AWS), as well as applications hosted on these platforms.
  • Proficient in working in containerised environments (particularly with Kubernetes), ensuring the security of containerised applications and services.
  • Understanding of the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and application security tools in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to thrive in a scale-up environment that values adaptability and innovation.
  • Nice to have: Previous experience in penetration testing.
  • Nice to have: Holding industry certifications, such as renowned cloud architecture/security certifications, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.

Dojo from the get-go

First launch was back in 2009. So with over 15 years in the payments industry, we’ve got a story to tell.

Dojo is built to soothe customer and consumer pain points across the world for over 140,000 customers.

And today, there’s over 1,200 of us in multiple locations across the UK, Ireland, Spain, and Italy.

Our mission is to empower businesses to thrive in the experience economy by creating the tools and tech that turns transactions into meaningful relationships.

We do that through sophisticated EPOS payments integrations, fast transactions, hospitality bookings, and a strong consumer restaurant app.

Question: what’s curious, relentless, and customer obsessed?

If you’re keen to know the answer, you’re a third of the way to meeting our Dojo values.

If the following speak to you, let’s talk:

  • You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.
  • You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.
  • You’re customer-obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.

Dojo home and away

We love collaboration. We have offices across Europe – that takes some dynamism.

Long-distance calls are a must, but we’ve always valued in-person work when it’s possible, especially meetings. We aim for asynchronous communication when we can though.

Don’t like rules? Nor do we. We avoid top-down policies – it’s all about teams having the power to fuel their success.

At Dojo, you’re trusted to judge what you see and make the call in the best interest of our customers.
