We’re reinventing payments.
In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing.

Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year.
But we’re just getting started.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.

The Role

We’re looking for a passionate People Advisor to join our growing People Partnering team, supporting our Customer Operations and Commercial areas. This is a great opportunity for a HR Generalist to gain exposure to all elements of the employee lifecycle and add real value to our high-performing People team.

You’ll coach and advise junior and mid-level people leaders (line managers) on everyday employee issues, such as performance, absence & engagement. Furthermore, you’ll lead on employee relations cases such as Disciplinary procedures & grievances.

What you will do ...
  • Advise and coach junior-level People Leaders on their team members’ performance, engagement, well-being and absence, as well as probation extensions or dismissals
  • Lead on disciplinary and grievance cases by ensuring proper procedure is carried out, advising investigation and hearing managers, taking notes, and preparing paperwork
  • Support the Senior People Relations Manager on any complex employee relations cases and appeals
  • Collaborate closely with our People Operations team to support employee lifecycle processes as needed, including systems, data, relations & compliance
  • Answer complex and escalated employee queries in our People Team Helpdesk (ticketing system)
  • Compile key data and insights for People Partners covering employee joiners, movers and leavers, employee relations and engagement
  • With support from the People Coordinator, liaise with employees and people leaders on family leave requests, for example, maternity, baby bonding (paternity), shared parental leave, adoption leave etc
  • Support on ad hoc People Team and People Partner initiatives and projects, as and when required

What you will bring ...
  • Demonstrable background as a HR Generalist that includes advising and coaching junior and mid-level managers on people-related issues
  • Solid working knowledge on policies and procedures, UK employment law and best practice
  • Proven experience in managing employee relations cases, ensuring we are compliant with employment legislation and guidelines
  • The ability to use good judgment when advising the business on appropriate actions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with People Leaders (line managers), and the ability to come up with solutions when things are not always black and white
  • Ability to analyse information and present it in a concise and impactful manner
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) is desirable but not essential

Dojo home and away

We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in-person. These “together days” foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas.

That's why we have an office-first culture. This means working from the office 4+ days per week.

With offices across Europe, we know a thing or two about staying dynamic. Need deep focus? Head to a quiet zone. Big ideas? Collaboration spaces have you covered. Just here for a catch-up? Our social hubs make it easy. Do work that counts, in spaces made for you.

Question: what’s curious, relentless, and customer obsessed?

If you’re keen to know the answer, you’re a third of the way to meeting our Dojo values.

If the following speak to you, let’s talk:

  • You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.
  • You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.
  • You’re customer-obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.
