The Role

We are seeking a People Lead to be the dedicated expert for our Italian team. This is a broad, high-impact generalist role for an operational specialist who can navigate the complexities of Italian market nuances while scaling with a high-growth international tech company.

Based in Milan, you will work closely with the General Manager for Italy to build a high-performing local culture. While you will be the go-to expert for everything on the ground in Italy, you will also collaborate with our Global People team in London to ensure local initiatives align with our broader international standards.

What you will do...

  • Act as the primary partner to the Italy GM and a "bridge" to the UK, translating global strategy into local action while navigating org design and "dotted line" reporting.
  • Oversee the end-to-end journey in Italy—including onboarding, payroll, and benefits—while driving cyclical milestones like salary reviews, promotions, and budgets.
  • Serve as the resident SME on Italian Labor Law, ensuring all documentation, employee relations, and local policies are handled with precision.
  • Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to automate manual tasks and managing the complexities of organizational change as the Italian site grows.
  • Partner closely with the Workplace Experience team as the "feet on the ground" in Milan to support office operations and execute engaging company events.
  • Provide interim operational oversight for France, managing the people function for the region until the team reaches the scale required for a local resource.

What you will bring…

  • Deep knowledge of Italian Labor Law and market-specific nuances is a prerequisite for this role.
  • A background in high-growth, international tech environments where you’ve managed change with agility.
  •  A versatile, "hands-on" operator who is equally comfortable with strategic advice and operational HR tasks.
  • Proficiency in English (UK standard) and Italian is essential for effective cross-border collaboration.
  • Open-minded and flexible, with a willingness to lean into specific specialisms as the Italian team grows.
  • A dedication to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, keeping this at the forefront of every local hire and initiative.
